Hi! I'm Izzie, a writer and journalist.

I'm a freelance lifestyle journalist and experienced Health Writer based in London.

As a journalist, I've written for outlets that include Refinery29, HuffPost, the Independent, Cosmopolitan, Stylist, Glamour and the Telegraph, on all things lifestyle (e.g. dating & relationships; culture) – but I'm now primarily dedicating my work to women's health: In particular, women being misdiagnosed or otherwise failed by our healthcare system. This is something I feel incredibly passionately about, and I'm very keen to tell more women's stories and try to bring about change in the form of listening to – and respecting – women when they try to explain what's happening in their bodies.

I'm particularly keen to bring about change to maternity care; especially with regard to harmful, outdated attitudes that favour a 'natural birth' over life-saving medical interventions, and which try to suppress parents' voices, encourage them not to listen to their bodies and eliminate all element of personal choice when it comes to childbirth.

As a Health Writer, I work with femtech companies and health sites on all things women's health-related. I predominantly write for Daye's 'Vitals' blog and sexual health site Giddy on topics such as periods; menopause; conditions (e.g. endometriosis, thrush and BV); and orgasms, among others.

I'm also a part-time Editor at Metro UK's 'Platform' section (First Person & Opinion) where I edit first-person stories, opinion pieces and columns, as well as writing 'As Told To' articles via phone or Zoom interviews.

I'm always open to commissions; please do get in touch if you'd like to work together!
